Dangbei X9 Ultra

The Dangbei X9 Ultra is a premium 4K laser projector designed for people who want a serious big-screen experience without compromising on flexibility or gaming. What immediately stands out is its QuaLas 42 pure RGB triple-laser light source, producing around 6,100 ISO lumens, so this is a projector built to deliver a bright image even on a large screen.

But brightness isn’t the only thing that makes the Dangbei X9 Ultra interesting. It supports Dolby Vision, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and comes factory-calibrated with a very low Delta E, so it is clearly aimed at movie and home-theater enthusiasts as well. Dangbei also uses a system designed to reduce the rainbow effect that can sometimes be noticeable on DLP projectors.

One of my favorite features is the four-way optical lens shift. You can move the image significantly both vertically and horizontally without relying on digital keystone correction, while the 1.2–1.5x optical zoom gives you even more freedom when deciding where to place the projector. That makes the X9 Ultra much easier to install in a real living room or dedicated theater.

Gaming is another area where Dangbei has clearly put some effort into the X9 Ultra. It supports VRR, ALLM, HDMI 2.1, and a claimed 1ms input lag, plus a 21:9 ultrawide mode for PC gaming. So while this isn’t marketed purely as a gaming projector, it has plenty of features that could make it a very interesting option for gamers who also want a high-end home theater projector.

Overall, the Dangbei X9 Ultra looks like a projector that tries to do everything well: very high brightness, premium image quality, flexible installation, and serious gaming features.
